CREATE DIGITAL SOUNDS / MUSIC
Learn to produce music in Ableton Live
In this class, Ableton Certified Trainer Adam Fangsrud (Flatliner, Kro) will guide students through all of the necessary steps to get musical ideas out of their heads and into polished finished tracks. Although this is an introductory course, even seasoned producers can benefit from the content, which breaks music production in Ableton Live into bite-sized pieces and helps compartmentalize the different steps of the production process. This analytical yet creative approach ensures that musicians don’t get overwhelmed with options or crippled with writer’s block. By the end of this course, students can expect to understand the unique workflows made possible by Ableton Live, including drum racks, instrument racks, effects routing, warping, moving between Session and Arrangement view, and more. Students can look forward to having one or more tracks completely arranged, mixed, and ready to play loud.
WHO IS THIS CLASS FOR?
This course is suitable for both beginners and for more seasoned music producers who struggle with any of the steps needed to fully realize their musical vision, whether it be conceptualizing, sequencing, sound design, arrangement, or mixing.
The class culminates with each student creating an individually or collaboratively designed digital performance or interactive work to display at the dadageek showcase. You can check out past showcase performances here.
