Do you offer payment plans?

Yes! We offer payment plans on a case-by-case basis via PayPal. Email us at TheTeam@dadageek.com for details with “Payment Plan” in the subject line.

 

Do you offer discounts?

Some courses have early bird discounts. We also offer limited-time discount codes at events like dadageek exhibitions and dadaLab events, so join us there!

 

Why should I take a class instead of learning from YouTube or a book?

Our classes offer the opportunity to connect with like-minded people. dadageek classes are taught by talented artists who have been working in their medium for years. As working artists, they are a great source of inspiration and they offer a wealth of knowledge gained through personal experience. In other words—you’ll meet cool people! And you’ll get a chance to exhibit your work at our regular exhibitions.

 

What the difference between dadageek courses and workshops?

Full courses meet 7 times and are structured to help a student complete a self-directed project. Full courses teach foundational skills that students can use to create more projects. Workshops are meet either 1 to 4 times. The projects are more structured and are meant to serve more as an introduction to the skill set. 

 

I have questions about a course. How do I contact the instructor?

If you’ve read the description online and you still need to know more to make a decision, email us at TheTeam@dadageek.com, and we can put in contact with the instructor. You can also DM us on Facebook or Instagram.

 

I won’t be able to attend one of the scheduled class sessions, should I still take the class?

In most cases, you can miss one class and catch up. If you are interested in a class, email us at TheTeam@dadageek.com, and we can put in contact with the instructor to work out a make up plan.

 

I’m unsure what a class is about. How can I find out more?

Am I required to show work at the dadageek exhibition?

The end-of-quarter exhibition is 100% optional. But many students take the opportunity to share their projects at the showcase, and overwhelmingly report that it’s a fun and exciting experience :)

 

Who are your instructors?

Our instructors are working artist and educators with a passion for their craft and for teaching others. To learn more about the instructor for any given class, scroll to the bottom of the page of all our courses at dadageek.com/courses and read their bio.

 

How large are the classes?

Our in-person courses have a maximum of 14-16 students. The average class size is between 9 and 12 students. We make sure that each student can get lots of one-on-one attention from the instructor.

 

I’m on the waitlist for a class. What are my chances of getting in?

It depends. If a student drops the class, we will contact the 1st person on the waitlist.  So your chances are dependent on how long the waitlist is and when you signed up. If you want to find out more about your specific waitlist status, email us at TheTeam@dadageek.com and put “Waitlist” in the subject line.  

 

What classes will you be offering in the future?

We update our offered courses each quarter. The best way to keep up with our course offerings is to sign up for our mailing list and follow us on social media. Have a class you’d love to see us offer? Email us at TheTeam@dadageek.com, and we’ll see what we can do! Put “New Class Request” in the subject line.

 

Does dadageek offer classes for teens/kids?

Most of our students are adults. However, mature teens 16 years and older can register for dadageek classes. No special accommodations will be made.

Do you offer Intermediate and Advanced classes?

Many of our classes are for beginners. However, we do offer some Intermediate and Advanced classes. If you are interested in a class, email us at TheTeam@dadageek.com, and we’ll see what we can do! Put “Intermediate/Advanced Class” in the subject line.

 

Do you offer scholarships?

Yes! We reserve limited spots each quarter based on a combination of financial needs and artistic merit. If you are interested in applying, check out our scholarships page in the top menu of this page. Scholarship applications open each quarter.
